Haven Hardwoods, Inc. offers the complete installation of many types of flooring. This includes woods such as oak, maple, ash, pine, and cherry. We also install luxury vinyl tile (LVT), and engineered hardwood. Please feel free to look at our F.A.Q. page or contact us regarding any other flooring.
Prefinished hardwood flooring comes with a factory sprayed finish. This service is a little less intrusive than a full sand and install. Individual manufacturers may guarantee their flooring, but it must be installed according to close specifications. Haven Hardwoods, Inc. makes sure these specs are followed by leveling subfloors, securing joists, taking moisture or relative humidity readings, applying moisture barriers, ensuring proper nailing patterns, and many more steps that may be product specific.
Prefinished flooring can be found in almost any variety of species, colors, and sheens.
Haven Hardwoods, Inc. installs raw (unfinished) hardwood, sands, stains, and finishes with the client's choice of color and sheen. We have responsible local suppliers who carry many types of domestic flooring. Their sustainable logging is very important to us. We only have one Earth!
Haven Hardwoods, Inc. offers a full refinish service. The floor is sanded down to bare wood and then stained (or it can just be finished as natural without stain). Coats of sealer and polyurethane are then applied for added durability and protection.
Available sheens are invisible, matte, satin, semi-gloss, and gloss. Satin is our most popular choice, though invisible is trending more today.
All of the finishes we use are commercial-grade. Ask us about super-grade commercial finishes that are used in basketball courts, malls, or high-traffic restaurants. These finishes are an excellent option for higher-than-normal wear areas.
When refinishing stairs, we provide a few options.
Option 1 is to simply sand the tread of the stair. The tread is the horizontal part of the stair that you step on.
Option 2 is to sand both the treads and the risers. The risers are the vertical part of the stair, the "toe-kick". Sanding both treads and risers truly highlights the full beauty of a staircase. This is a more expensive option because much of the riser needs hand-scraped.
Unfortunately, we do not sand any other parts of staircases including bannisters, stringers, or spindles.
Option 3 is to "cap" them. All this means is that the existing steps will be covered with new steps.
